LIVING SPRINGS FELLOWSHIP

The Heavenly Reality On Earth

"But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem...Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear." (Heb. 12:22,28)

If you have ever been on a mountain top, you know that the journey to the top was not easy but the perspective you get when you are standing on the mountain peak changes your entire perspective of how you see and understand everything. In the New Covenant, we are no longer living life on Mount Sinai but on God's holy Mount Zion.

These two mountains serve as an illustration of the Old and New Covenant:
Mount Sinai - Represents the LAW and our Separation from God’s Glory.
Mount Zion - Represents GRACE and God's Invitation toward God’s Glory.

As the Apostle Paul wrote in Rom. 6:14, "For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under GRACE. And the Apostle John adds, "And of His fullness we have all received, and GRACE FOR GRACE. For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ" (John 1:16-17).

When we are under the heavy yoke of the Law, the Law brought us certain barriers, burdens, and restrictions. But when Grace came, God gave us bridges, blessings, and release. O how glorious this life of liberty is!

When we humbly came to the hill called Calvary and surrendered our will and received the FULL FORGIVENESS of our sins, we also were able to come to Mount Zion in order to live according Christ and His endless supply of grace in daily acts of obedience and service to God with reverence and gratitude!

We are now called to live by faith in the New & Living Way, where we come:
  • To Mount Zion (The perfected Jerusalem)
  • To the City of the Living God (The bride of Christ and His dwelling place)
  • To an innumerable company of Angels (The countless angels serving God)
  • To the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn (Full host of heaven)
  • To God the Judge of All (The Final Authority and the all consuming fire)
  • To the Spirits of Just Men made Perfect (All believers already in heaven)
  • To Jesus the Mediator of the New Covenant (Only Way & Means to God)
  • To the Blood that Speaks of Better Things than Abel (The greatest sacrifice)

Therefore, truly we can say,  "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ" (Eph. 1:3).

Each of these realities remind us and reconfirm to us that we are the recipients of the heavenly kingdom that God birthed in the hearts of all those who have believed and received Christ and are now under His righteous rule.

We often think of going up to heaven when we die, but God is wanting to BRING HEAVEN DOWN to us while we live. We need to study the ways of God's kingdom and learn to MAKE MUCH OF JESUS on earth just as all the heavenly hosts are doing day and night before God's throne in heaven.

Jesus taught His disciples to pray in this manner, “Our Father in heaven, hallowed by Your Name, Your kingdom come, Your will be done ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN…

God is overseeing everything that is happening in our world and He is getting everything ready for when His Son will come into the world, where every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord!

WHAT IS GOD SAYING TO YOU and how is HE showing you where your life does not look like HIS KINGDOM rule and reign over your life?

Everything that is done and built up by man will soon be shaken so that ONLY WHAT IS IN CHRIST SHALL REMAIN! God is joining heaven and earth together and the sum total of it all is His Son - JESUS! He alone is God's final Word to all of creation. Everything will soon be gathered together IN CHRIST.

Therefore, let us NOT refuse Him who speaks to us by His Spirit and who gives us the grace to live a life that is fully pleasing to Him!

"Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells" (2 Peter 3:11-13)

THIS WEEK'S NEW COVENANT EXHORTATION:

Let us HAVE GRACE to save us and to show us
the heavenly reality while we live here on earth.

Let us SERVE GOD with REVERENCE and FEAR, and
NEVER REFUSE HIM whom we must LOVE and HEAR!
